Rebuilding Lives, One Step at a Time
“Where true leaders don’t create followers, we create more leaders”
Our Mission
The Robinson Foundation is dedicated to empowering women, returning citizens, at-risk youth, and their families by providing safe housing, preventive education, comprehensive support services, and opportunities for personal growth and self-sufficiency. We work to break cycles of homelessness, incarceration, violence, and poverty by fostering stability, resilience, and community reintegration through a holistic, person-centered approach.
The Robinson Foundation’s goals focus on reducing recidivism, preventing youth involvement in the justice system, and helping survivors of domestic violence achieve stability. We aim to provide safe, supportive housing for women, youth, and returning citizens as they work toward independence. The program promotes education and career readiness through GED preparation, vocational training, and job development opportunities, along Workforce Development & Job Placement. This connects participants to resume workshops, interview coaching, job readiness training, and employer partnerships.
We prioritize mental health and overall wellness by offering counseling, addiction recovery services, and peer support groups. For returning citizens, we deliver legal, financial, and employment resources that facilitate successful re-entry. For youth, we offer preventive interventions, mentorship, and life skills programs that encourage positive decision-making and personal growth. We also work to strengthen family and community connections through counseling, mediation, and engagement opportunities that foster unity and social support.
Our mission is to provide comprehensive support services through three key initiatives:
• The Domestic Violence Program: Offering safe housing, counseling, and life skills training to survivors, ensuring they regain independence and rebuild their lives.
• The Youth Violence Prevention Program: Addressing the root causes of gun violence, gang involvement, and academic struggles by providing mentorship, education, conflict resolution, and workforce development to at-risk youth.
• The Returning Citizens Program: Supporting individuals reentering society by providing stable housing, job training, mental health services, and reintegration support, helping them rebuild their lives and reduce recidivism.
Through safe housing, mentorship, education, employment opportunities, and trauma-informed care, The Robinson Foundation is committed to breaking cycles of violence, fostering self-sufficiency, and building stronger communities in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
